No load shedding for Christmas

All i want for Christmas... is electricity.

ZULULANDERS can look forward to a bright Christmas next week as Eskom has assured there would be no load shedding during the holiday period.

According to Eskom, there is no plan to load shed this week or during the holiday period.

Emergency reserves of water and diesel fuel have also been built up for the festive season.

Businesses are closing for the holiday period and the demand for power has subsided.

Eskom now has a chance for maintenance work before South Africans return to work in the second week of January.

Eskom has battled to keep the grid stable since a coal silo collapsed at the Majuba Power Station in Mpumalanga last month. Since then, South Africans have experienced constant power cuts in attempt to stabilise the system.
