Motorist escapes train smash
The car was removed immediately and the train continued on its journey.
WHAT could have been a horror accident between a train and a car at the level crossing in Mtubatuba left one woman shaken but unscathed.
Earlier this morning, a female motorist was driving a Toyota Fortuner down Nkosi Mtuba, Mtubatuba’s main road, at the same time as a train was making its way over the level crossing.
Apparently unaware of her surroundings, the driver of the Fortuner did not stop when she approached the level crossing. According to Lieutenant Mpontshane, Communications Officer for Mtubatuba SAPS, only the front of the car was damaged and the woman was not injured.
The car was removed almost immediately and the train continued on its journey shortly thereafter.
No further information has, as yet, been released.
