A YOUNG man from eMadlankala who terrorised and raped a girl in front of her brother in April, received a heavy sentence at the eSikhaleni Regional Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
Wonderboy Msho Nkwanyana (26) was arrested and charged with rape and two counts of armed robbery.
It was revealed that a group of ten men, including Nkwanyana, stormed into the boy’s room at the Hlophe homestead and demanded their belongings at gunpoint.
Shortly after the robbery, the men forced entry to the girl’s room.
According to the police statement, other girls managed to escape, leaving the 15-year old girl behind.
The victim told the police that all four men sexually assaulted her while her brother watched.
She said after the incident, she was saved from a possible kidnapping by her neighbour.
‘When he saw them taking me away, he screamed for help and contacted the police,’ she said.
The young woman was immediately rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Nkwanyana was then arrested.
He was sentenced to life in prison for rape and 15 years for each robbery.
