Mtuba Municipal Manager to be charged

A prosecutor and presiding officer have been appointed and the first hearing should take place towards the end of the month.

ALLEGATIONS of financial mismanagement against Mtubatuba Municipal Manager, Siyabonga Ntuli, have been upheld following an investigation which prompted his suspension last month.

‘Ntuli will be charged before the end of November,’ said Mtubatuba Municipal Administrator Bamba Ndwandwe,

He could not go into detail of the charges against Ntuli as he has not been formally presented with the charge sheet. What he did say, however, is that the report following the investigation establishes various actions and omissions on Ntuli’s part, which amount to misconduct.

A prosecutor and presiding officer have been appointed and the first hearing should take place towards the end of the month.

Allegations against Ntuli include his inability to produce a legally valid valuation roll, and the payment of salaries to striking workers rather than implementing the ‘no work, no pay’ policy.
