The Richards Bay woman was injured after her car skidded off the wet road and hit a tree on Sunday morning.

ON the brink of starting her new career in the hospitality industry, Richards Bay resident Carina du Plessis is now fighting for her life at Netcare The Bay Hospital following a car crash in Richards Bay on Sunday morning.

Carina (19) sustained major injuries after her car skidded off a wet road and hit a tree near Green Africa Nursery just after 6am.

Doctors are hard at work, however it will be a long road to recovery.

Erika would like to express her gratitude to everyone who has offered their support, as well as Netcare The Bay Hospital staff and the Richards Bay Fire Station.
