Pregnant woman stabbed by brother

The woman was attacked after she asked her brother to stay outside while she washed the floors of her home

THE eMadlankala woman, who was stabbed seven times by her brother while pregnant, welcomed his 10 year  prison sentence.

Thembinkosi Mkhize (20) was charged with attempted murder, after he was arrested by eSikhaleni police.

According to the police, after the incident, Mkhize stole some home equipment including a laptop and fled.

He was nabbed at uMkhobose area four day after the incident.

His sister told the court she had asked him to wait outside after she had cleaned their house floors.

‘It was wet, and I asked if he could just wait for it to dry. He just took a knife and stabbed me,’ said the sister.

She sustained serious injuries on her neck and stomach.

Shortly after the incident, she was rushed to hospital where she gave birth.

According to the victim, the child was born disabled due to the stabbing.

He was sentenced in the eSikhaweni Regional Court yesterday.

  1. Where is the love and protection for a pregnant sister? Brother I hope you rot in jail. Your sister face now the disability of her baby caused on purpose by you! You are a brother from hell. Sister be strong you will make it, us women are stronger than we think. I pray for you and you baby.

  2. You have crossed the line there Dean. What you are saying is inappropriate and racist. It’s sad there are people who still think like that. This has nothing to do with race, and fro your information- not all ‘black people’ are criminals.
    Its awful what happened to this lady and I hope she and her baby gets well soon….
