Rice bucket challenge for charity

Zululand companies encouraged to donate a bucket filled with non-perishable goods for charity.

GOT a little rice for DICE?

Accept the ‘Rice Bucket Challenge’ in support of charity!

Dealer Principal at Empangeni’s Autoforum, Helen Patrick, has initiated the ‘Rice Bucket Challenge’ in the hopes of seeing Zululand Observer’s charity arm, Do I Care Enough? (DICE) receive much needed non-perishable foods to distribute to the needy.

Charity does begin at home, so donate a sealable bucket with rice or any other non-perishable goods such as samp, mealie meal, soya mince, coffee, tea, powdered milk, tinned foods such as beans and fish and make a difference to someone’s home!

‘I would like to see our community take the initiative one step further and pledge to provide a monthly donation for six or twelve months which will ensure DICE being able to look after the most vulnerable members of our society, the elderly and children, throughout the year,’ said Patrick.

Rise to the challenge and deliver your bucket to the Zululand Observer Offices in Empangeni or Richards Bay, Autoforum in Biyela Street, Empangeni or alternatively contact eShowe journalist, Larry Bentley or Mtubatuba journalist, Tamlyn Jolly and get your neighbour to do the same.

For more information or enquiries, contact Judy Dearling on 035 7990500 alternatively email zopa@zululandobserver.co.za – remember to copy the challengee’s information in an email which will ensure that a tally of the brave-hearts is kept to acknowledge receipt of their generosity periodically in the news.
