Four stabbed in Bay house robberies

Robbers strike twice in Veldenvlei.

ROBBERS went on the rampage in Richards Bay in the early hours of this morning, stabbing four people in two separate house robberies in Coral Shower street in Veldenvlei.

Richards Bay police spokesperson Captain Debbie Ferreira confirmed that both incidents occurred at about 12.30am and 2.45am.

During the first attack, a 49- year-old complainant reported that he had heard noises outside the house before suspects broke into his house.

They damaged his cellphone, stole goods and jewellery and then stabbed him before escaping through the kitchen glass door.

During the second incident, which happened a few hours later, a mother, father and their daughter were stabbed and have since been hospitalised.

It is believed the suspects gained entry by throwing a cement block through the window.

Ferreira said police were still compiling statements for the second case.
