Sangoma uncle trial set for March

eMandlankala double murder case moved to Mtunzini High Court.

THE eMadlankala man accused of killing two children last year, reappeared briefly at Mtubatuba High Court on Monday, and the case was remanded to the Mtunzini High Court

Khulekani Msindo was arrested after the bodies of Lindokuhle (9) and Nosiphiwa (3) were found buried in a shallow grave inside an unfinished roundavel at their home.

Police later discovered that the girl was strangled to death, and her cousin’s throat was slit open.

According to the family, both children were apparently left with Msindo, their uncle, at the time of the incident.

Police also recovered blood and muthi in the his room, shortly after the incident. He was arrested by eSikhawini police and charged with double murder.

Speaking to the Zululand Observer, his brother and the girl’s father, Siyabonga Msindo, said the dragging court case is making things difficult for his family who are still grappling to find closure.

‘It has been more than a year since both children were killed, but the matter hasn’t even been to trial. We wish this case was over. It is very painful to sit in the court room and see him. We don’t understand why they have to move the case from court to court without moving forward. We just wish he can be sentenced and never see the light of day. It’s obvious that he had planned to kill my daughter and nephew and people like him don’t deserve to be among decent people. I wish this was over so that I will never see him again. Every time I see him in court, I just imagine his hands around my daughter’s neck while he took her life,’ said Siyabonga.

‘I’m now afraid of my own brother, and I know he is not crazy and he knew what he was doing.’

Siyabonga also said the family was receiving counselling as the first brave step to healing and moving on.

Msindo remains in custody until the matter resumes on 23 March next year.
