TO celebrate youth month in June, and to honour its pledge to assist communities surrounding the wetland park, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park Authority supported a sporting event in Khula Village last month.
The aim of the event was to offer alternatives to young children and to help keep them off the streets.
Siyabonga Khumalo, a Khula Village Councillor involved with youth development in the area, said, ‘The support from iSimangaliso is highly appreciated and we hope to continue working well together.’
iSimangaliso concession holder, Advantage Tours, awarded the tournament’s winning soccer team with an educational experience in the park and a sponsored boat cruise on the St Lucia Estuary.
