Big task for local poet

eSikhaleni poet Mbali Magcwabe to write a poem about crime a road safety for KZN MEC Transport and Community Liaison.

WINNING three major poetry titles, including the KZN Poetry Road Show, was just the beginning for eSikhaleni born poet, Mbali Magcwabe Mkhize.

Not only will she receive an acknowledgment certificate from uMfolozi FET College next month, she has also been asked to write a poem about crime and road safety by the KZN MEC Transport and Community Liaison, Willies Mchunu.

‘I am very honoured to have been requested to write this poem. It’s even more special because the MEC asked me himself,’ said Mbali.

This vibrant poet has made a name for herself on big stages and in the uKhozi FM poetry show by Bongani Mavuso.

Through her writing, she tackles social ills, politics, women and human rights.

She has moved up the entertainment ladder through her unique style and love of languages and performed with the best in the country.

Her recent performance about Dr Blade Nzimande at Mabida Stadium on Youth Day has moved her to the top.

She’s young, energetic and reciting her way to success.
