Meet the aspiring attorneys from Ntambanana

NATIONAL campaign ‘Take a Girl Child to Work Day’, an initiative by Cell C, celebrated its 12th anniversary with the theme ‘Dream, Believe, Achieve’ took place last Thursday.

Legal Aid Empangeni and Empangeni Magistrate’s Court joined hands to host Grade 11 and 12 girl pupils from Mningi High School in Ntambanana. who are aspiring attorneys.

Aimed at reminding girl pupils that they have the power to make their greatest dreams come true by believing in themselves, the initiative also hopes to encourage young women to inspire, influence and lead others generations to greatness.

Mningi High School matric pupil, Mbalenhle Xulu, said she had her heart set on studying political science.

‘After today, I can’t say my mind is set on politics now. It was so informative and interesting.

Magistrate Kumarie Moodley really swayed me toward an LLB degree,’ she said.

The project, endorsed by the Department of Education, has seen more than 2 300 companies and government departments participate in the campaign and more than 650 000 girls have been exposed to a multitude of businesses and various career and job opportunities.
