Ngunis go under the hammer

Ngunis will be auctioned at the Mtonjaneni Sales Yard.

THE Valley of the Kings Nguni Sale at the Mtonjaneni Sales Yard has attracted top class animals and buyers and sellers can look forward to an exciting day.

Starting at 11am on Saturday, 7 June, 95 pre-selected bred Ngunis will come under the hammer.

They are all disease resistant, having tested negative for CA and TB.

Bulls have been fertility tested and are Trich negative.

Mature females are certified in-calf.

The animals run on redwater, heartwater and gallsickness veld.

The sellers are all well-known nguni breeders and include John and Kath du Preez, Mbulu Estates (Gavon Calverley) and Viriendschap Boerdery (Nico Harris).

Guest sellers are Junker ngunis (Lourens Jonker), Merriman Randlehoff, Dr Peter Ardington and Paul and Rene Smith.

In total, 10 bulls, 25 cows, 50 heifers and six Nguni/Bovelder slaughter oxen will be offered.

The auctioneer will be Mark Hohls and inquiries can be made to Stoffel Mouton on 082 3290225 or Pieter van Zyl on 082 4590668 of BKB Louwid.

But do not be led to believe this is only about cattle.

The whole family can enjoy the day out in the country.
