ONLY two days after he turned 18, a Richards Bay man passed away in a tragic car accident in Veldenvlei at 11.15pm on Saturday night.
Devan Naidoo and one other passenger were reportedly driving to a convenience store for cool drink when he lost control of his grey double cab bakkie on Bullion Boulevard and crashed into the backyard of a residential home.
According to the Richards Bay SAPS, the young man died on impact while his 24-year-old friend was rushed to Netcare The Bay Hospital with unknown injuries.
Naidoo’s aunt Venessa Pillay said the family greatly appreciates all messages of condolences from the public.
‘The support shown on Facebook, via BBMs and text messages, have been immensely helpful in making the family strong during this difficult time and we are truly grateful,’ said Pillay.
