A 31-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in the Qubuka Reserve, Kwamsane.
The suspect, the victim’s uncle, used to stay with her while her mom was at work.
On the day of the arrest, the victim’s mother arrived home from work and was confronted by her daughter who claimed that her uncle had raped her on more than one occasion.
The matter was reported to the police and a rape case was opened. The suspect was found at his home by the police and was arrested and detained at the Kwamsane Police Station.
He will remain in custody pending an investigation.
