Businessman gunned down at home

THE Gingindlovu SAPS urgently needs any information that could assist in the investigation of the death of a well-known Amatikulu shop owner, Allan Naidoo of Amatikulu.

Naidoo arrived home at 9pm on Friday, 10 January and an employee Mr Mpanza opened the gate.

He then drove through his yard to the back of the house.

While Mpanza was closing the gate, he was attacked by five unknown armed men.

Mpanza was forced to the back of the house where Naidoo was off-loading his vehicle.

The armed men fired shots at Naidoo wounding him in the abdomen.

He died shortly afterwards.

The armed men then robbed the other people living in the outbuildings of cash and their cell phones.

They also broke into Naiddoo’s house and managed to open his safe taking several cell phones, a firearm and a large, undisclosed amount of money.

Naidoo owned a shop next to Amatikulu Mill and another at Isithebe.

He was living alone in a railway house near the Amatikulu Bridge, but had about six employees living with him on the premises.

A reward of R20 000 is being offered for any information leading to an arrest and conviction..
