LADIES are encouraged to invest in the life of a child by supporting the Amangwe Village ladies tea at Mtubatuba in November.

The fund-raising initiative in aid of the Amangwe Village crèche will take place on Saturday, 2 November at 10am at the Protea Hotel uMfolozi River.

Promising to be an entertaining morning in a tranquil setting, Zululand Observer Managing Director and patron of Amangwe Village, Regina Anthony, will be the guest speaker.

‘Reg Anthony served for many years on the Amangwe Village Management Committee and was instrumental in the development of the services at Amangwe, but more so at the crèche,’ said Amangwe Village Manager Erna Steynberg.

‘The aim of the Amangwe crèche is to provide a conducive, safe and secure environment for children to develop holistically. The children are exposed to stimulation programmes that will prepare them for formal education and their development as individuals,’ said Steynberg.

Children of Amangwe crèche will also display their talents in a fun-filled lineup, while ladies can look forward to lucky ticket giveaways, goodie bags and gifts, specially made by the children.

Owner of Trelique Models Angelique Wright will keep guests entertained as programme director, with an exciting new feature this year as models take to the catwalk showcasing the latest summer fashions.

‘The crèche depends largely on the subsidy by the Department of Social Development, crèche fees from parents and the goodwill of the community. The 40 children receive two balanced meals a day and a snack. This service is rendered by three qualified staff and support staff,’ Steynberg said.

Tickets will go on sale in the first week of October. To purchase tickets or contribute towards the event in any way, contact Hlengiwe Ndlovu on 035 5804504.
