POLICE and a security company’s personnel nabbed a fleeing suspect on Thursday morning after they were tipped off that a stolen Toyota Hillux was heading towards Zululand on the N2.
The van was reported stolen in Durban on Wednesday night.
On Thursday morning tracking company ‘Tracker’ received signal, indicating the vehicle was moving north towards Zululand.
The SAP flying squad and Alpha Security officials swooped on the suspect after blocking of the entire intersection near Canefields at around 2pm.
On investigation it was found that the original number plates were hidden by fake registration plates.
It is believed the suspect was heading towards the Mozambican border.
