Bay welcomes first cruise ship of season
The ship steamed in as part of its 18-day voyage from Cape Town to Mauritius.
EUROPA was the first luxury liner to arrive at the Port of Richards Bay on Thursday for the 2016/2017 cruise season, bringing with her hundreds of German tourists.
Operated by Germany’s Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, the ship steamed in as part of its 18-day voyage from Cape Town to Mauritius.
She first arrived in Cape Town on 3 November and also made stops at the ports of Mossel Bay, Port Elizabeth and Durban this month.
The group enjoyed a boat trip at iSimangaliso Wetland Park and visited the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Park.
Her next ports of call will be in Mozambique, Madagascar, Reunion and Mauritius before passengers return to Frankfurt.
For 12 years in a row, MS Europa has been awarded ‘best cruise ship in the world’ status by Ward-Ranking and Berlitz.
