Trade Fair a resounding success

Attracting thousands of visitors to the two-day event last Friday and Saturday, guests got more than they bargained for.

THIS year’s Zululand Trade Fair was a resounding success according to event organisers Dean Smith and Jeanette Small.

Attracting thousands of visitors to the two-day event last Friday and Saturday, guests certainly got more than they bargained for.

An entry fee of R80 for adults and R40 for children provided visitors with almost 150 business stalls and a jam-packed entertainment line-up.

‘In addition to all the stalls, our fun fair, bag jump, kids zone and Unizul Science Centre provided much fun and entertainment for the youth.

‘Our arena events were a huge attraction, especially the FMX jumps, freestyle motor-cross and drifting.

‘The military mock battle and the burning car were also a hit and the entertainment line-up of Bollywood Afrofusion, Nasty C, David ‘Qadasi’ Jenkins and Richard Stirton attracted big crowds.

‘For just one ticket, visitors had access to a variety of events and activities, and top artists and performers,’ she said.
The trade fair team are excited about the success of this year’s event as well as the economic and tourism spin-offs for the city.

Stall holders from out of town used local establishments to accommodate staff over the weekend stay.
