Cruise liners bring tourists to Zululand

Hundreds of tourists will explore Zululand while their cruise liners is docked

CRUISE liners are dropping anchor in Richards Bay, introducing hundreds of foreign tourists to this region throughout December.

Mooring first for the festive season last weekend was Columbus 2 – a four-star liner from Germany owned by Oceania Cruises with passenger capacity of 824 passengers.

It was docked at the Small Craft Harbour for two days allowing passengers to visit the Kwabhekithunga Zulu village, Phinda Game Reserve and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Park before enjoying a boat trip on the St Lucia lake.

Another European luxury liner will stop over in Richards Bay on 4 January during its cruise between South Africa and China.

The Oceania Nautica caters for 684 guests, who are scheduled to visit the Damazulu Cultural Village, Hluhluwe Game Reserve, Shakaland and St Lucia’s iSimangaliso Wetland Park during their stay in Zululand.
