Market day for paws and claws

Animal lovers shop for SPCA Richards Bay's strays

ANIMAL lovers, bargain hunters and ‘shopaholics’ gathered at SPCA Richards Bay’s monthly open day on Saturday to support the area’s abused, neglected and stray animals.

Shoppers combed various stores and stands on the SPCA grounds for books, plants, electronic equipment, toys and a wide array of household goods, while the hungry customers had brunch straight off the braai grill in the tea garden.

Younger visitors also enjoyed their day out making friends of the human, feathered and furry kind around the playground.

All funds raised from the monthly market day go towards the day-to-day running of the non-profit animal welfare.

The next SPCA open day will be on 26 October.
