SOUTH Africa is a great country with great people!

It’s just a tragedy that our government doesn’t recognise what it is doing to undermine this nation.

I have now read the opinions of three senior black conservationists who have stood up against this Fuleni coal mine, giving outstanding reasons for why it poses such a horrible and destructive threat to one of the country’s most prized natural assets; the iMfolozi Game Reserve and the Greater Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park.

May we all raise our glasses, hats and heads to Gladman Buthelezi who joins Oscar Mtimkhulu and Jabulani Ngubane of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife in condemning this mine.

It proves to me that beneath the upper echelons of greed, corruption and incompetence lie a multitude of brave and reasoned voices that reflect the goodness and humanity of our country.
