Mzingazi’s angels rescue abused child

Mzingazi nine -year- old beaten over the head for allegedly not having done chores

A NINE- year old Mzingazi girl sustained head injuries after allegedly being beaten by her father’s girlfriend on Thursday night.

The violent attack, which happened a day after the launch the 16 Days of Activism to end abuse and violence against women and children has angered community worker, Sharon Mdletshe.

Mdletshe said she was informed of the matter after 8pm when community members had found a young child, bleeding from a head wound.

‘I was in town collecting food parcels for needy families and asked Pastor Sithole, a fellow community worker and crime fighter to respond to the case.

‘Sithole is one of our community’s men helping us to fight crime and abuse and he found that the child had been beaten by the female for allegedly not having done the washing.

‘He took the child to the clinic for treatment and she was referred to the hospitalas the wounds were severe, and required stitches.

‘Our community volunteers are working as a team to end violence against children and we need our community to support the 16 Days campaign too and not tolerate the abuse of children,’ said Mdletshe.

The matter has been reported to the Richards Bay police.
