BREAKING NEWS: Five dead in police shoot-out

The gang is believed to be connected to the cop killing in Gingindlovu on Monday.

A SPECIAL police task team has reportedly just shot eight members of a gang believed to have been responsible for cop killings in KZN, including that of W/O Jeriko Mdletshe, who died in an attack at Gingindlovu on Monday.

Information is scant at present but five criminals are said to have died in today’s shootout at Seven Oaks, on the road between Greytown and Pietermaritburg.

Three other criminals were said to be critically injured while one SAPS member is reported to have been wounded.

On Monday this week W/O Mdletshe (52) and Constable Senzo Ndwandwe (37) came under fire when they investigated a suspicious car  on the R102 near Shoprite, Gingindlovu on Monday morning.

Mdletshe died at the scene and Cst Ndwandwe was shot five times.

He is reportedly in a stable condition in Netcare Alberlito Hospital.
