THE Mthonjaneni Municipality will host Community, Safety and Liaison MEC Willies Mchunu at a two-day crime summit tomorrow and Wednesday at Ndundulu sport fields between Nkwaleni and Melmoth.
The summit will allow MEC Mchunu to engage with all relevant stakeholders around issues of crime in the area, with specific focus on Ndundulu and Thubalethu.
The communities of these two areas embarked on service delivery protests which led to them blockading roads and burning tyres.
One of the main concerns was the escalating criminal activities and the seemingly lack of cooperation from the police and the Department of Justice.
MEC Mchunu and the Mthonjaneni Municipality aim to use this summit to draft a plan of action to address these issues.
