Ramaboa rips through KZN Coastal side

KZN Coastal Districts went down by 75 runs to North West Rural.

NORTH West Rural team bowler O Ramaboa proved unplayable when leading his side to a 75-run victory over the KZN Coastal Districts team in a SA Rural Competition clash played at Addison Park on Saturday.

The right hand bowler ended with figures of 5/3 in 4 overs, which included two maidens and an impressive economy rate of just 0.75 runs per over.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first on a dry, hard and flat batting track.

After toiling away in the hot and humid Zululand conditions, the North West side posted 161 all out in the 47th over.

CJ Ferreira’s knock of 53 off 78 balls aided his side to a respectable total.

His innings included 5 fours with a strike rate of 67.95.

He was assisted at the other end by Dwain Fielding who smashed 44 off 55 balls with a strike rate of 80.0.

Fielding managed two fours and one maximum during his visit at the crease.

I Hatiya 3/27 in 9.1 overs and Ashley Lombard 2/11 in 4 overs were the pick of the home side’s bowling attack.

Fast deterioration of the pitch saw the home side dismissed for 86 in the 28th over.

The pitch proved unplayable with very inconsistent bounce and swing, which left the KZN side baffled.

Lombard managed 20 off 28 with Grove Venter putting on 19 off 27.

KZN Coastal Districts will head back to the drawing board and practice nets before their next game, hosting Free State at Addison Park on 5 December.
