Mtuba beauty crowned Mrs Zululand 2015

Mtuba's Chyrese Coetser had an extra special birthday treat when she was crowned Mrs Zululand 2015.

FIFTEEN years after wearing the Miss Zululand crown, Mtubatuba’s Chyrese Coetser was on Saturday crowned Mrs Zululand 2015.

‘It’s heartwarming to have been chosen as Mrs Zululand and I could not have fitted it in with family life and work without the strong support of my family,’ said Chyrese.

‘Mrs Zululand is essentially an empowerment programme for women and I look forward to working with other women over the coming year’.

For the year she wears the crown, Mrs Zululand’s duty is to make appearances and work on various projects, most of which have already been specified by Mrs Zululand CEO Celeste Robertson.

‘Apart from the women empowerment projects we will be working on, I am going to continue with the Schoonhovens’ cancer trust and I also want to get involved in nature conservation,’ said Chyrese.

Of the firm belief there will be times when people have to step out of their comfort zones, Chyrese has encouraged her daughters to take up modelling as she feels it is an important confidence booster.

‘Modelling is not only about looking good, it also helps women become confident public speakers’.

While there was only one winner and two runners-up, all finalists were awarded a special title, including Mrs Philanthropic, Mrs Personality and Mrs Charity. Chyrese was awarded the special title of Mrs Role Model.

‘Winning this title was very humbling and I will try to live up to it’.

Garnering the Mrs Zululand title is only the beginning of Chyrese’s journey, one she is thoroughly looking forward to.

‘Apart from the appearances I will be making and projects I will be working on, I also want to be involved in selecting finalists for next year’s pageant.

‘I really am looking forward to making a difference while wearing the crown’.
