Amabhubesi pay the penalty

Thanda Royal Zulu draw with Mthatha Bucks.

THANDA Royal Zulu FC let it slip on Wednesday when their 1-0 first half lead was nullified by a dubious penalty scored by Mthatha Bucks in the second stanza.

Menzi Hlophe once again found the back of the net for Thanda, who again created enough chances to have easily walked off the field with all three points but instead had to settle for one.
That makes it their fifth draw in nine NFD matches this season, to go with two wins and two losses.
This has been a recurring problem, with the side scoring plenty of goals at the one end but conceding far too many at the other.

Thanda in fact have the worst defensive record in the league, having leaked no fewer than 15 goals.
This could be ascribed to the fact that they are extremely attack-minded, and often get caught on the break.

They will want to guard against this when they take on Moroka Swallows at the uMhlathuze Stadium on Saturday. Kick-off is 3.30pm.
Three points are vital in their quest to rise up the ladder.
