Philani gets his brand new wheels
See who drove away with the brand new Datsun Go in the Win a Car competition.
ENTRY hopefuls descended in their hundreds on the Richards Bay Rugby Club on Saturday, keen to drive off in a brand new car.
But it was Philani Mhlongo from Eshowe who wore the big smile after the draw – the winner of a fabulous Datsun Go, courtesy of the Zululand Observer and Imperial Datsun Zululand’s Win a Car Competition.
This 24-year-old man’s dream to own a car for the first time came true as he joined the final five on stage after submitting no fewer than 80 entries.
He was overwhelmed when his name was called and first planned trip was to show it off to his parents in Eshowe.
A total of 4 660 entries were received, but the first Zululand Motor Show will not just be remembered by Philani.
It was a resounding success and the many who attended agreed it was well organised and had a lot to offer.
The show is set to become an annual event and Zululanders can look forward to an even bigger and better event next year.
