Results from Day 4 at the SA Bodyboarding Champs

Local favourite to take the Pro Division champs Mark McCarthy was eliminated in both Pro and Dropknee.

Day 4 of the Imperial Nissan Zululand SA Bodyboarching Champs took place in 1-2 foot offshore surf in the morning turning onshore in the afternoon with some bigger sets coming through.

Competition on the day consisted of quarter final knockout rounds of the Juniors, Mens and Pro Divisons where some surprise knockouts were seen.

Local favourite to take the Pro Division champs Mark McCarthy was eliminated in both Pro and Dropknee as well as Stephen du Preez (CKZN) and Storm Prestwich (SKZN) in the Pro Divisions. Consistent form saw guys like Rory-Fellows Smith (CKZN) and Garryd-Ensor Smith, Michael Ostler (CKZN) and Rheinhard du Toit (NKZN) making todays semi-finals.

In the Junior Division it was Central KZN riders that continued to dominate with four of their riders making the Semi final with top 2 positions in the quarters. Standouts in the Junior quarters were Garryd Ensor-Smith, Ethan Nel, Aedan O Brien who were really ripping in their heats.

There were some finals that took place at the end of the day where action took place in the Boys, Ladies and Grandmasters. The results of these and all the finals will only be announced at tonights prize giving.
