Motorists dodge ruts and dongas in Empangeni

Potholes might seem like a small problem now, but how long until the roads become impossible to navigate?

EMPANGENI’S pothole nightmare seems to be getting more and more out of hand.

The Eyethu Bay Watch spotted one of many potholes of at least 10cm deep on Main Road in Empangeni, just before the Frank Bull intersection.

To avoid the pothole motorists are being forced into the left hand lane or have to drive with two wheels in the oncoming lane.

Another quick survey, as the one done on Durnford Road last week, revealed that the entire section of Main Road from the Ngwelezane intersection to the intersection at Five Ways Mall is ridden with holes and in some places, severe rutting.
