MKUZE police have confirmed that one of the armed robbers who was involved in a shoot-out and hostage situation earlier today, has died.
Warrant Officer Zwelisha Gumbi of Mkuze SAPS confirmed that one of the men were wounded and succumbed to his injuries.
KZN EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie also confirmed that paramedics conducted an unsuccessful CPR resuscitation on a 25-year-old male at the scene.
Two robbers stormed BSS cash loans just before 11am this morning and after a shootout with police, one of the suspects barricaded himself inside the building with staff and clients.
The remaining suspect handed himself over to police at the scene shortly after noon.
The number of hostages that were held is not clear at this stage, however it is believed they are unharmed.
