Blondes to wow UK beer drinkers

Zulu Blonde beer will be served at international festival.

NOT only will the Boks be carrying the South African flag during the Rugby World Cup, the Zululand Brewery based in eShowe, Zulu Blonde will also be making waves.

Wetherspoon pubs will be serving 10 beers from around the world alongside beers from the UK during a 17-day festival (Friday, 16 October until Sunday, 1 November).

The beers on offer have been sourced from brewers in New Zealand, Japan, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Holland, Norway and the United States.

They will complement up to 40 beers from across the UK being served in the pubs during the festival.

The international brewers have previously brewed for Wetherspoon international beer festivals.

Each has been selected to brew for this festival after being chosen as the ‘best of the best.’

The overseas beers on offer are Real Ale (Young Henry’s, Australia), Nordic Noir (Nogne O, Norway), Zulu Blonde (Zululand Brewery, South Africa), Low Blow (Fork and Brewer, New Zealand), Yakima Sun (Fat Heads, USA), Minagof Smoked Porter (Ishii Brewing, Japan), Red Racer (Central City, Canada), Sunset Ale (Two Birds, Australia), Spiced Ale (Flying Dutchman, Holland) and Bengali Tiger (Sixpoint, USA).

The UK beers include three linked to the Rugby World Cup 2015.

 

Festival organiser, Rob Davies, said, ‘We are thrilled to be serving such a fantastic selection of beers from across the world as well as those from the UK.

Zulu Blonde

The Zululand Brewery is a South African beer company founded in 1997 by the Chennells family.

The Company is based in Eshowe, Zululand where Zulu Blonde Beer was originally brewed.

The Zululand Brewery’s flagship beer Zulu Blonde was launched internationally in 2010 where owner and brewmaster Richards Chennells brewed Zulu Blonde Export Ale at Marstons Brewery in Burton-upon-Trent in the UK to supply 800 pubs for the JDWetherspoons International Real Ale Festival.
