A MOZAMBICAN citizen was arrested with a suspected two kilogram cocaine consignment when he attempted to cross the Golela border on Tuesday afternoon.
Fernando Niguice (36) was nabbed at the border with suitcases containing the sealed bags hidden inside false compartments.
A cocaine assignment of such size, has a street value of about R600 000.
He appeared in the Pongola Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The Organised Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and the substance has been forwarded for a forensic analysis report.
The State is opposing bail.
