Family’s frantic search for missing teen

An eSikhawini family and police are currently conducting a desperate search for a 15-year-old boy

SURVEILLANCE footage from a bus has provided the only clue as to the last known whereabouts of a 15-year-old teen from eSikhawini.

Nqobani Biyela, a pupil at Richem High School, has been missing since Wednesday afternoon.

He was last seen climbing off an Ikhwezi bus at around 15.45pm.

Biyela takes the same bus every day from school to his home in eSikhawini, where he stays with his mother, Nontobeko Sabela.

A frantic Sabela told the Zululand Observer that she had last seen her son on Sunday, as her work as a nurse requires her to work shifts.

‘I just want him to come home safely,’ she said on Friday.

Biyela was last seen wearing his school uniform carrying his school bag.

According to his mother he has no tattoos or identifying marks or scars on his person.

‘He answers to the nickname ‘Young Beats’,’ she said.

A missing persons case has been opened at eSikhawini police station, and anyone with information relating to Nqobani’s whereabouts can contact his mother on 078 750 0117 or 082 608 1101.

The footage from the bus has been made available to the family, who shared it with the Zululand Observer.

Nqobani is seen towards the end of the video wearing a large black rain jacket and his school uniform carrying an umbrella and speaking with the bus driver.
