Bay’s boarder McCarthy makes it a double

RICHARDS Bay professional body boarder Mark McCarthy made it two wins in a row on the 2015 tour when he surfed his way to another win at the Cape Classic held at Derdesteen in the Western Province earlier this month.

What made the victory taste ever so sweet was the fact that it was his first win at this national event.

A total of 60 highly talented riders entered.

The pro final was battled out between McCarthy and Storm Prestwich.

McCarthy stole the spotlight, pulling off a good back-flip which he rode to the shore break.

He followed that up with two clean rolls which handed him the title.

‘I am very stoked with the back-to-back wins, as I have never done it before,’ said McCarthy.
