City gears up for colourful Easter Passion march

Believers will take to the streets tomorrow to commemorate the resurrection of Christ Jesus.

THE City of uMhlathuze anticipates a colourful parade on Easter Friday when Christians take to the streets for the annual Easter Passion march, in commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The initiative, founded in Empangeni in 2013 by Pastors Kevin and Nisha Naidoo, will see songs of praise, a multi-coloured procession and almost 400 participants gather for the event.

A host of congregants from various churches will participate in the march through the streets of Empangeni, starting at 1 Pearce Crescent (Old Mutual Building) at noon, making its way through the main streets of the Empangeni CBD and finishing off at the Sanlam Centre underground parking.

Local pastors and members of the public are invited to join in.
