The race is on for orphan project

Kate hits the road for orphan feeding programme.

IZULU Orphan Projects’ (IOP) Founder and General Manager Kate Bain is hard at work preparing for her first marathon run, the Hillcrest Marathon, on 8 February.

The purpose of working up a sweat is to use the event as a fund-raising drive in aid of Izulu Orphan Projects’ daily orphan feeding programme and soup kitchen.

IOP would like to appeal to businesses and friends to pledge a sponsorship amount, and be prepared to double this if she completes the marathon in under five hours.

Although the coffers are empty and IOP are in financial crisis, they are determined to continue to feed, educate and support 1 700 rural HIV/Aids orphans.

‘If you deprive yourself for the hungry and satisfy the needs of the afflicted, your light will rise in the darkness’ (Isaiah Chapter 58, verse 10).This is Kate’s motivation.

For more information on how to pledge, email laurie@izuluorphanprojects.co.za or contact Kate on 083 6499990.
