Know the price of school uniforms

Cost of schooling stretches budgets.

PARENTS are having to clean out their wallets as their children prepare to go back to school on Wednesday.

With the list of school necessities ranging from bags to blazers, getting a child school ready doesn’t come cheap.

In terms of school fees, the majority of public primary schools charge between R6 000 and R8 000 per annum, whereas high schools bill parents around R10 000.

On average the cost of a uniform for primary school pupils ranges from R629 to R683.

To dress high school boys from head-to-toe would cost R1 557, whereas the girls’ uniform is a little more expensive at R1 582. Private school tuition fees and uniforms are significantly more expensive.
