Three die in accident near St Lucia
Four injured, three dead in Khula Village collision.
TWO men and a woman died on Saturday afternoon when two cars collided at the intersection to Khula Village on the R618 near St Lucia.
According to an eye witness, the two vehicles were travelling in the same direction, in excess of the speed limit, when one tried to overtake.
One of the vehicles reportedly suffered a blow-out, causing the two cars to collide.
One vehicle then veered off the road, hitting a tree.
Ambulances from Mtubatuba attended the accident and tended to the casualties.
According to KZN Emergency Medical Services (EMS), seven people were involved in the accident.
Three were pronounced dead at the scene while the remaining four were seriously injured.
They were transferred by ambulance to Ngwelezana Hospital for continued care.
