Water alert as dam levels in eShowe drop

UTHUNGULU District Municipal Manager MN Nkosi has asked businesses and residents in eShowe and surrounding areas to use water sparingly owing to critically low levels at the Eshlazi and Rutledge Park dams, which supply the eShowe waterworks.

Technical officials are working to identify an alternative source of water supply, however this will be a temporary solution until such time that rainfall increases the main dam levels.

The municipality apologises for the inconvenience caused and assured consumers that the situation is receiving priority attention.
