Cricket success rewarded

Eugene Zwart awarded the uThungulu Cricketer of the Year award.

THE uThungulu Cricket Union held their AGM and Prize-Giving ceremony for the 2013/14 season at Addison Park on Thursday evening in the Empangeni Rugby Club, club house.

The highlight of the evening was Eugene Zwart being awarded the uThungulu Player of the Year Award, but the lowlight was President Anton Geringer stepping down after four years of service.

The evening started with the AGM, where the new office bearers for the 2014/15 season were elected and the dates were set for the season ahead.

The Weber Cup will start this weekend, which will see seven teams competing this year, as Umfolozi has joined in.

The Weber Cup will be followed by the Saturday afternoon league, then the T20 competition.
