Medals for local gymnasts
Richards Bay Gymnastics Club members excel at APN Gymnastics Club competition.
FIVE members of the Richards Bay Gymnastics Club took part in the APN Gymnastics Club competition, held in Durban last weekend.
The boys competed in vaulting, bar, parallel bar and floor, with the girls competing in vaulting, bar, beam and floor.
Abigail Röttcher claimed gold overall, with Lauren Richardson claiming silver.
Jason Röttcher, Matthew Röttcher and Luke Vermaak all claimed bronze.
‘Gymnastics is a growing sport which needs discipline, concentration and hard work,’ said coach Tania Alger.
The KZN trials will take place on 2 August in Pietermariztburg.
The members who are selected for the KZN team will compete at the Zone Challenge in Pinetown from 28-30 August against Northern and Eastern Free State and Northern Cape.
Classes are offered in Richards Bay and Solid Ground Church in Felixton.
