Hockey squad look to dominate

The Northern Coastal U16 girls hockey side beat St Catherine's in their final trials game.

THE Northern Coastal (NC) U16 girls’ hockey side smashed St Catherine’s (Saints) first hockey team 3-0 in a clash on Wednesday afternoon at Addison Park in Empangeni.

The NC team made light work of the Saints in a game organised by the Coastal selectors to finalise their squad.

The NC side were 2-0 up at half-time thanks to goals from Dominique Skinner and Thabisile Mthembu.

Kriten Grant found the back of the Saints box in the second half to seal the final score..

The NC side will compete in the Joy Watt inter-district hockey tournament from 26 to 28 April in Pietermaritzburg, where the players will compete for KZNCD U16 selection.

The young talented side will come up agianst ten other districts at the torunament.
