Have a jol and support kids with cancer

Two-day event in Empangeni to raise funds for children with cancer

After sterling support from the Richards Bay community at their Cupcakes of Hope stall at the Dolosfees, local fundraising efforts for children with cancer continue.

Helena Pieterse and her team are later this month hosting a two-day fundraising event which promises many thrills and spills.

Get to Empangeni Moth Hall on Friday, 25 and Saturday, 26 October for some fun and fundraising!

Friday’s event, running from 6pm until late, includes live boeremusiek, karaoke and a sokkie dance.

Entrance fee is R80 per person, with children under 12 getting in for free.

On Saturday, Dalene Genis (country), Shanay and Koos, Johnny, and Wikus Botma are performing.

After the entertainment line-up, the dance floor will open and the DJ will take over the decks.

Entrance fee is R180p/p and R80 for children aged 8 to 12 (U7 are free), with weekend tickets at R200 pp, or R80 for children 8 to 12.

The first artist goes on stage at 6.30pm.

People are welcome to bring their own cooler boxes at a R200 corkage fee (of which R100 will go towards the Shellhole, and R100 towards Kids with Cancer).

Monica Hande will be selling hotdogs, burgers, chips and sweet treats, as well as tea and coffee.

“I would like to say thank you for the overwhelming generosity and support of our incredible cupcake angels, donors and supporters.

Together we managed to raise R2.3 million in this year’s National Cupcake Day for Kids with Cancer. Thank you to every person who contributed – whether you baked, donated, or simply shared a message of hope,” said Pieterse.
