One dies in N2 single-vehicle roll-over

ONE person sadly lost their life this morning (Saturday) when the bakkie in which they were travelling overturned.

The accident occurred on the southbound carriageway of the N2 in the vicinity of the Engen garage near eSikhaleni just before 10am.

Traffic was brought to a standstill as debris was scattered across both lanes of the highway, reducing the national route to just the emergency lane.

Mounties EMS attended the scene, stabilising two occupants who had sustained moderate injuries before transporting them to Ngwelezana Hospital for further medical care.

All emergency services were in attendance, with traffic police directing other motorists while paramedics tended to the injured and the debris was cleared.
