Expect delays amid N2 road closures

Temporary road closures on both the Pongola and Nseleni river bridges on the N2

Motorists travelling on the N2 should expect delays owing to temporary road closures in connection with infrastructure maintenance on both the Pongola and Nseleni river bridges.

The South African National Road Agency (Sanral) said the temporary road closures are to conduct, among others, line marking, bridge joint repairs and removal of barriers.

“As part of the casting of concrete parapet process, temporary lane closures with stop-and-go control will be implemented,” said Serisha Sukraj, Sanral’s Eastern Region project manager.

“We further appeal to road users to adhere to the road signs and speed limit when approaching and traveling through the construction site,” said Sukraj.

Motorists are also advised to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time, especially when accessing travel hubs such as airports.
