Foskor supports ‘Hang Out With Madiba’

"We should spare the little that we have to put a smile on someone else's face."

Foskor Acid Division, in partnership with the Zululand Observer, took part in the ‘Hang Out With Madiba’ initiative, collecting warm clothes, toys and other warm items as part of our 67 minutes on Mandela Day.

Foskor hung out their donated items on the clothesline, which was assembled in front of Foskor’s parking lot, for employees to donate items that would help the less fortunate. It was with great excitement that the Acid Division managed to collect 67 clothing items on the dot as our primary goal.

The Zululand Observer (local Newspaper) charity arm DICE (Do I Care Enough) works daily to support the less fortunate members of the Zululand community through several projects. Foskor’s clothing donation will be collected by the ZO and transported straight to the charity of support.

A day of giving out to the needy turned into a day of joyful gratitude.

Some of our employees shared their experiences: Nokubonga Dludla from Procurement said, “To us who are fortunate, to us who have food, clothes, shelter, etcetera, we should spare the little that we have to put a smile on someone else’s face. It might be a little for us, but for them it’s everything and more.”

To all Foskor employees and contractors who donated their time and clothing to make this day a success, we thank you for your gratitude and resilience. Giving away to the needy does not end here, but it’s a lifetime practice.
