Illegal connections cause of Jozini water outages

The residents of Mathayini in Mbabanana, Jozini, took to the streets on Tuesday morning, blockading the road with trees and stones in protest over ongoing water shortages.

Speaking during the protest, police spokesperson Captain Justice Hlabisa said there was police presence at the scene, with officers escorting road users to ensure their safety.

Meanwhile, uMkhanyakude District Municipality said it has taken action to address illegal connections impacting water supply in the area.
